Caterpillars Get Clonked by Reapers, 3-1
|
The Grim Reapers banked on Bob Foster and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Grand Forks hitters in check. The final score was 3-1, Reapers. Reliever Emílio Sosa picked up the win. His record improves to 1-5. Auno Toivola, who is tied for 6th in the SA in strikeouts with 114, took the loss. Mike Parkinson, credited with the save, is now 16 for 19 in save opportunities.
Grim took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Michinori Nakamura hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Reapers.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Grim skipper Arnold Magowan.
The Reapers raised their record to 35-59.
