Collins Homers Twice in 4-1 Win
|
The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus defeated the Holy City Herons, 4-1. Second Baseman Butch Collins deserved a large share of the credit. Collins slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Hobeaus. Juan Cervantes earned the win to go to 7-6. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts in 8 innings of work. The slumping Herons have lost 9 straight.
In the bottom of the third, Collins had a 2-run home run for Smoky Mountain. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Hobeaus on top, 3-1.
