The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus picked up a win at Smokies Stadium, dropping the Philadelphia Liberty U-24, 6-3. Terry Ward, who is tied for 5th in the SA in quality starts with 15, was the difference-maker. In 7 innings, Ward surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The 4th-place Hobeaus now sit at 54-42.

B.J. Harrison took Philadelphia hurler Jacob Harrell deep in the bottom of the first. His 3-run home run put the Hobeaus on top, 3-0. In all, Harrison had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
