The Grand Forks Caterpillars defeated the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus by the score of 5-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to shortstop Elías Carnascialli. Carnascialli was 2-3 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Caterpillars on the day. With the win, the Caterpillars hiked their record to 55-42.

Early in the game, Carnascialli had a 2-run home run for Grand Forks. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Caterpillars on top, 3-1.
