The Philadelphia Liberty U-24 and Delmarva Gallos left the fans buzzing.
Starting pitcher Juan Velasco took care of business, helping the Delmarva Gallos stifle the Philadelphia Liberty U-24, 3-2. Carlos Hana earned the save, his 31st in 32 tries.
Delmarva left fielder Roberto Álvarez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 101st hit of the season and put the Gallos ahead, 3-0.
"Ah," said Álvarez in a jubilant clubhouse, "the sweet smell of victory!."
The win hiked the Delmarva record to 58-39.
