Vancouver Trades Masuda for Las Vegas's Rodríguez Friday, May 15th, 2037 It came down to the last hour of a self-imposed trade deadline, but the Vancouver Grey Wolves and Las Vegas Flamingos finally came to an agreement on a trade that had been rumored for weeks. The trade sends Vancouver's 18-year-old 1B Kunitaro Nii, 18-year-old LHP Takejiro Masuda and $2 in cash to Las Vegas in a swap for 34-year-old RHP Germán Rodríguez. Both GMs seemed relieved that the deal had been completed with one stating, "We had to set a deadline to get it done." The players are expected to report to their new teams by tomorrow. Las Vegas will retain a portion of Rodríguez's remaining contract. In his career Rodríguez has compiled an ERA of 3.69 with 60 victories and 66 defeats and has held opponents to a .255 batting average. He also has struck out 914 batters in 1195.2 innings and given up 1181 hits. |
