Bad Boy Brawlers Suspended 4 Games
Saturday, June 17th , 2062
One player challenged the other with some angry words at the Liberty U-24-Caterpillars game at Liberty Youth Field yesterday. There was some pushing and shoving -- then the dugouts emptied. There was a lot of scuffling, but no punches thrown. When order was finally restored and the dust settled, the umpires ejected Philadelphia's Emílio Ruíz and Grand Forks's Ánibal Gonzáles.
Now both antagonists will get some time off, courtesy of the league commissioner. They were suspended 4 games for inappropriate and aggressive behavior.
Thus far this year, Ruíz is hitting .185 with 2 home runs, 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
So far this season, in 13 relief appearances Gonzáles has compiled an ERA of 4.76. He has pitched 11.1 innings, struck out 5, walked 6 and registered 5 saves.
