Hobeaus Come up Short of Playoffs Saturday, September 1st , 2063 It wasn't meant to be for the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus this year. Despite a tough battle, they were eliminated from playoff contention today. "It is a bad feeling," said Hobeaus starting pitcher Rory Sherman. "Once you get into the playoffs, anything can happen. But you've gotta get in there first, and we weren't able to do that." Before this season, the Hobeaus last missed the playoffs in 2060. In the 25 years they have been a USSL Single A franchise, they have missed the playoffs 23 times. In the last 10 seasons, the Hobeaus have only made the playoffs once. |
