Playoff Bound: Walla Walla Secures Wild Card Thursday, September 6th , 2063 For the Walla Walla Walleye, it's not how you start, but how you finish. That's the mantra the team is following after today qualifying for the playoffs. "We may be going into the playoffs as a wild card team, but we plan to finish the playoffs as champions," said starting pitcher Layton Irving. "There's no shortage of confidence from guys in our clubhouse." With a record of 55-40, there will of course be teams with better track records in the postseason. But team manager Félix Cruz said his club has "infinite optimism" that they can win the franchise's 6th USSL Single A championship. |
