Salazar and Shirley Fight, Get Suspended Tuesday, August 29th , 2056 After an intense confrontation, both the Seahawks Juan Salazar and the Herons Guy Shirley were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Myrtle Beach-Holy City game. Juan Salazar will miss 4 games, while Guy Shirley was suspended for 8 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Juan Salazar commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Currently Salazar is hitting .279 and has collected 14 home runs, 50 RBIs and scored 46 times, while playing in 88 games. This season Shirley has been credited with 2 saves. In 24 relief appearances and 28.1 innings he has a 6-2 won-lost mark, 3.49 ERA and 33 strikeouts |
