No Playoff Berth Coming for Smoky Mountain Thursday, September 9th , 2060 That they came exceptionally close to qualifying for the playoffs will likely provide little solace for fans of the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus -- the team was mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today. "I don't expect the fans to be happy with us," said Hobeaus catcher Jacob Webb. "We're not happy with ourselves." Smoky Mountain last appeared in the postseason in 2037. This is their 15th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 22 times in their 23-year history. |
