Hit Streak Over, Browns Stop Giroux Saturday, August 2nd, 2036 Late in the game, all eyes in Nashville Stadium were on Arnold Giroux as he stepped into the batter box. His 20-game hitting streak was on the line, and he had a zero in the hit column on the day. Sadly for Giroux, it was not meant to be -- the zero would stay and the streak would end. If there was a silver lining for Giroux today, it was that his Nashville Outlaws won the game anyway, stopping the Cleveland Browns by the score of 2-1. "Winning took some of the disappointment out of it," Giroux told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 20 straight games. It's something I will always remember." Thus far this year Giroux has hit .257 with 8 home runs and 34 RBIs. |
