Veteran Hopper Hits Three Dingers Monday, August 24th, 2037 Fans are still buzzing after Northern Virginia whipped the Phoenix Hotspur by the score of 10-9 today at Chase Field. Dewitt Hopper smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the first baseman bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Hopper said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Hopper said. "Three is just... wow." Dewitt Hopper hit a solo-shot off Masahiro Sakei in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Masahiro Sakei in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Edgardo Nava in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and walked in the 9th. Hopper is hitting .284 in 2037 with 57 RBIs and 22 home runs. |
