Veenman Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Detroit Friday, July 30th , 2049 The streak has been snapped. Obke Veenman failed to get a hit in today's game against the Detroit Elite, bringing his 24-game hitting spree to an end. The 23-year-old New Orleans right fielder was 0-for-3, but the Voodoo got the win and defeated the Elite 5-0. "I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Veenman said. "I got to 24 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?" Veenman's current batting average stands at .337 and he has chalked up 13 home runs and 44 RBIs. |
