Thursday, September 13th , 2057
The Detroit Elite stopped the Baltimore Bullets by a score of 14-8 at Baltimore Grounds, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Don Weaver. The 24-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Weaver said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Weaver did just that in his 7 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Bullets.
"Not much that I can say," offered Baltimore manager Brandon Slouck. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Don Weaver hit a two-run home run off Kris Collins in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Kris Collins in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th and hit an RBI single in the 13th.
A look at his current stats shows Weaver with a .342 average, 26 home runs, 70 RBIs and 65 runs scored. He has played in 93 games.
