Long Island Lighthouse Ship Santángel to Nashville Wednesday, August 1st, 2040 After prolonged negotiations Long Island agreed to ship 21-year-old CF Daniel Page, 19-year-old RF Omar Luoa, 19-year-old 3B Kenny Benson, 20-year-old 1B Julian Lemur and 21-year-old LF Juan Santángel to Nashville for 27-year-old 3B Mark Toope and 29-year-old LHP Craig Fitzgerald. The deal is awaiting confirmation from the league office but neither team expects any hang-ups. "It took longer than expected," said one GM, "but we knew that the deal was going to happen." Nashville will retain a portion of Toope's remaining contract. Nashville will retain a portion of Fitzgerald's remaining contract. So far this season Santángel has put up a .264 batting average with 68 hits, 5 home runs and 25 RBIs. |
