Vázquez and Fox Brawl, League Suspends Them Thursday, June 19th, 2036 Yesterday at Boeing Dome Javier Vázquez and Dusty Fox got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Seattle Aviators and Buffalo White Walkers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Vázquez will have to sit out 4 while Fox would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Hitting .123 to date, Vázquez has 2 home runs and 9 RBIs. He has played in 38 games. This season Fox has crafted a 3-5 mark with a 4.50 ERA in 60 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .268 against him and he has 37 strikeouts. |
