Red-Hot Ryan Scorches Black Mambas Tuesday, July 21st, 2043 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for John Ryan, it came around today. The 30-year-old center fielder scattered hits all over Mamba Park to pace the Port Huron Blitzkrieg to a 9-3 victory over the Austin Black Mambas. Austin skipper Juan Cuestas told reporters in the press room that "Ryan deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Ryan hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." John Ryan hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Joel Walden in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
