Briggs Keeps Hit Streak Alive Friday, August 3rd, 2040 Wally Briggs's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 25 games. The Alaskan third baseman smacked 1 hit against the Bakersfield Nobles in today's game at Jerome Grounds, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Humpbacks drop the game, 7-1. "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Wally Briggs singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. Briggs is hitting .330 this year with 2 home runs and 26 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .372, 12 walks and scored 31 times. |
