Custardoi Goes on Rampage Against Bronze Sox Saturday, July 27th, 2041 Even as a kid, Chico Custardoi said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Bronze Sox Park today, Custardoi showed how well he learned that lesson. The 23-year-old shortstop had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Sacramento Redlegs, helping his team knock off the Texas Bronze Sox by a score of 12-5. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Chico Custardoi singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ron Harris in the 6th and singled in the 8th. So far this season Custardoi has gotten 55 hits in 200 at-bats for a .275 batting average with 2 home runs. His stats include 16 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has played in 60 games.
