Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Tuesday, August 12th, 2042 After an intense confrontation, both the Brass Nick Boyd and the Rocks Sidney Petty were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Baton Rouge-Plymouth game. Nick Boyd will miss 3 games, while Sidney Petty was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Nick Boyd commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." In the current season, Boyd has put up a .177 batting average with 11 hits, 1 home run, 3 runs batted in and scored 10 runs. To date Petty is 0-3 in 7 starts with a 4.86 ERA and has 25 strikeouts in 33.1 innings. |
