Bronze Sox End Briggs's Streak Tuesday, August 7th, 2040 Wally Briggs's 25-game hitting streak has now come and gone. It was snapped today as the Alaskan Humpbacks suffered a 2-1 setback against the Texas Bronze Sox. Briggs went without a hit in 3 trips to the plate. He was visibly upset during a postgame press conference, but it appeared that the streak had little to do with it. "The hitting streak was one of those things where it was fun while it lasted, but I'm not going to lose any sleep about it tonight," he said. "On the other hand, I am going to lose sleep about dropping this game today." So far this season, Briggs has recorded a .325 batting average with 66 hits, 2 home runs, 26 RBIs, 31 runs scored and a .369 OBP. |
