Great Week for Syracuse's Martín Pliego Monday, June 2nd , 2053 Syracuse fans have something to crow about today as Syracuse left fielder Martín Pliego nabbed the USSL Triple A Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Pliego. He posted a .417 average (10-for-24) this past week with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. In 24 games this season Pliego has compiled a .287 batting average with 27 hits and 7 home runs. He has also scored 16 times and knocked in 22 runs. |
