League Punishes Pair for Fighting
Sunday, June 21st, 2043
If there wasn't a history between Jung-joon Yi of Baton Rouge and Hildo van Doorn of Florida, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Yi said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
Thus far this season in 23 games Yi is batting .315 with 7 home runs, 19 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 28 hits in 89 at-bats.
Thus far this season van Doorn has posted a 2-3 record, started 9 games, struck out 37 batters in 54 innings and compiled a 6.00 ERA.
