USPL Double A Announces #1 Player Monday, May 30th, 2039 20-year-old Byron Ballard made a few Mercer Island headlines during this past week as the rookie third baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and USPL Double A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 5 hits in 12 at-bats to put up a .417 average. Ballard collected 3 home runs, 6 RBIs and scored 6 runs. For the season Ballard is batting .275 with 22 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 13 times and batted in 16. |
