García Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Monday, May 11th , 2048 With 1 hit at Paints Ballpark today, Cristián García added another game to his hitting streak -- the Franklin third baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Fire today, as they fell, 10-6, to the Canonniers de Quebec. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Canonniers de Quebec manager Burton Storey said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." Cristián García singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and struck out in the 8th. So far on the season García is hitting .341 with no home runs, 2 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 15 hits and played in 10 games. |
