Dirty Reds Suffer 6-3 Setback
|
The Kingston Township Knights trumped the Dayton Dirty Reds, 6-3, at Cloverdale Legion Park. Kingston Township designated hitter Alohinani Puanani was terrific. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Dan McIntyre picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-6. He struck out 7 in 6.1 innings. George Atwater nailed down his 29th save.
Puanani contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Kingston Township in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-0, Puanani took a fastball from Eugene Phillips and stroked the home run to left. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Knights to leap in front, 3-2.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Kingston Township manager Rayzor Ray.
The third-place Knights are 56-37.
