Vaughn and Phillips Swapped

Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Voodoo announced today the acquisition of 21-year old minor league LHP Tom Phillips from the Montana Pandas in exchange for 27-year old minor league SS Brad Vaughn. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Voodoo, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams."
In his career, Vaughn has racked up 209 hits with a .235 average and .269 on-base percentage. His numbers include 23 doubles, 4 triples, and 23 home runs, along with 102 runs scored and 85 RBIs.

Kingfishers-Leviathan Deal: Colenutt for de Braber

In a move that has fans in both cities buzzing, the Pittsburgh Kingfishers and the Nova Scotia Leviathan have agreed to a deal that will have 31-year old RHP Ernie Gibson, 30-year old RHP Cisco Navarro, 30-year old minor league RHP Laionela Pualani, 24-year old minor league RHP Dennis Bates, and 28-year old LF Dermott Colenutt heading to Nova Scotia in exchange for 32-year old 1B Maikel de Braber. Provided they pass a physical, the players should be with their respective teams in time for tomorrow's games.
Colenutt is hitting .253 during his 242-game career. He has 221 hits, 46 doubles, 2 triples, 16 home runs, 84 RBIs, 1 stolen base and 83 runs scored.
de Braber has a lifetime .266 batting average and .326 on-base percentage in his 340-game career with 341 hits and 62 home runs.
