Jeffes Scorches Lakers for 3 HR

Every now and then, everything just comes together.
Rhys Jeffes discovered that today at LA Forum, as he smashed three home runs during the 5-4 Philadelphia Liberty win over the Echo Park Lakers.
"I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Philadelphia left fielder said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it."
Jeffes, who is tied for 3rd in the SL in hits with 90, finished the day with 3 hits in 5 at-bats and 3 RBIs.

Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl

Amador Licopit of Las Vegas and Steve Kidd of Detroit were the main participants in a recent bench-clearing brawl and today the league handed out its punishment. Licopit will have to miss 5 games for his part in the brawl, while Kidd was given 6 games. League officials announced their suspensions today.
Licopit is batting .200 with 0 home runs and 7 RBIs this season.
Kidd has a 2-9 season record so far. In 15 starts, he has fanned 62 batters in 77.2 innings with a 6.26 ERA.
