LF Wilkerson Signs New Deal with Bullets

John Wilkerson stepped before the podium this afternoon with Baltimore officials flanking him on both sides as he doffed the Bullets cap and announced he'd reached an agreement to play in Baltimore for 1 year.

The deal, an estimated $8,500,000 in total, is widely seen as a positive move for an organization and an upgrade.

Hark at His Best, Blanks Mississippi

Hong-bin Hark allowed 4 hits while giving up no walks and collecting 7 strikeouts as the Kingston Township Knights blanked the Mississippi Mockingbirds, 3-0.

In the postgame interview, the 26-year-old left-hander said he was focused on "trying to keep the ball down and letting guys put it in play."

"It worked for me today," Hark said.

Hollywood Shuts Out Bullets, Salinas Winner

A favor to his bullpen. That's what José Salinas was doing at The Hollywood Bowl today as he blanked the Baltimore Bullets in a 9-inning complete game shutout.

"I went out there to try to eat up innings and help out our bullpen," the Hollywood Shredders left-hander said later. "I felt I had my good stuff, and it turned out my command was solid."

Salinas notched 7 strikeouts, surrendered 2 walks, allowed 5 hits, and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
