Piranhas Win at St. Louis, 8-6

Starting pitcher Juan Cruz pitched well enough to help the Panama City Piranhas beat the St. Louis Coeur, 8-6. Cruz, now 11-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs. Min Der earned save number 18 this season.
Panama City got a big at-bat from Onalaska, Wisconsin native Paul Young, who in the top of the second hit a 2-run double. It was his 26th double of the season and put the Piranhas ahead, 7-0.
"Juan had good arm action, good stuff," said Panama City manager Brian Talamante.
The Piranhas improved their record to 47-48 by beating St. Louis.
