Don Weaver helped his team muscle past the Toronto Thunder, 5-2. In the game, the Detroit second baseman was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. With the win, the Elite improved to 51-43.
Gareth Holz had a big 3-run home run for the Elite in the top of the sixth inning. With Detroit leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a slider from 32-year old right-handed pitcher Jami Jokinen and punished it. The result was his 19th home run of the season, which put the Elite on top, 5-0.
