Liberty Get Hard-Earned Win
Thanks in large part to designated hitter Loflinger Theissen, the Philadelphia Liberty beat the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 6-5. Theissen was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. The Liberty saw their win-loss record go to 57-39. At the same time, the Cattlemen fell to 46-50.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 5-5, 28-year old shortstop Jason Zimmerman won it for Philadelphia. With a runner on 2nd, Zimmerman hit a first pitch fastball from John Allen for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 6-5 win.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Zimmerman told the Philadelphia News.
