Thunder Get Thrilling 4-3 Win
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Toronto fans at Thunder Field.
The Toronto Thunder did just enough to nip the Detroit Elite, 4-3, in 12 innings. Toronto right fielder John Matthews, in particular, had a standout performance. After today's action, Toronto sits at 53-43; Detroit slips to 51-45.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With one out, Matthews hit a fastball from Terry Lesage for a solo home run. The Thunder, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Jordan Smith.
