Echo Park registered a win at LA Forum by beating the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 3-2. Pitcher Bernardo Cruz was one reason why the Lakers triumphed. The win elevated the Lakers to 50-47.
Étienne Duchesne was the walk-off hero for Echo Park. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lakers first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Duchesne. "And not try to do too much."
