Kuniyoshi Kodo had a good game, but he could not keep the Las Vegas Flamingos from falling, 9-5, to the Toledo Stingers at Pacesetter Park. The Las Vegas first baseman was 4-5 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs in the loss. The winner in relief was Jim Hunter. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 5-4. The Stingers lead the Silver League by 5 games.

Had Gregg Curtis not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Curtis hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Stingers.
