The timely hitting of Odell Papageorgiou helped the Pittsburgh Kingfishers down the Echo Park Lakers, 8-2. Papageorgiou slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Kingfishers. David White got the win, improving to 10-5. He held the Lakers to 2 runs on 5 hits over 8.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. With the win, the Kingfishers have a record of 54-44.
Pittsburgh grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Papageorgiou hit a 3-run home run off Carlos Sandoval. His 8th home run of the season put the Kingfishers out in front, 4-1.
"We were firing on all cylinders," said Kingfishers manager Tyler Johnson.
