Patriots Handed 11-6 Loss by Rainbow Mermaids
Northern Virginia first baseman Harvey Thomas made his presence felt in the 11-6 Rainbow Mermaids triumph over the Boston Patriots. Thomas went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The victory makes Northern Virginia 12-9.

Tied up with the Patriots in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Rainbow Mermaids got a boost from shortstop Luis Tañón. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Tañón saw a 1-0 cutter from Iiri Lahti and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Northern Virginia on top, 7-6.

"You start putting runs on the board and winning, everyone's going to get excited," said Thomas.
