Pittsburgh turned a fine outing from starter Luis Rojas into a victory over the Colorado Billy Goats at Grazing Hills. The final score was 9-0. The winner was Rojas. He threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Shawn Zimmerman. With the win, the Kingfishers improved to 56-44.

Matt Petty had a big 2-run home run for the Kingfishers in the top of the second inning. With Pittsburgh leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Shawn Zimmerman, who is tied for 10th in the SL with a 7.8 K/9 rate, and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Kingfishers ahead, 4-0.
