Pittsburgh Bats Go Silent in 2-0 Loss
|
The Colorado Billy Goats picked up a win at Grazing Hills, knocking off the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 2-0. Starting pitcher Alfredo Pérez played a key role in the triumph. Pérez got the win, improving to 4-0. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. The Silver League-leading Billy Goats have a record of 59-42.
Keith Stevens, who is tied for 3rd in the SL with a .392 on-base percentage, took Pittsburgh hurler Lester Creed deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Billy Goats on top, 2-0. In all, Stevens had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Colorado manager Mack Kilkeary said.
