Philadelphia and Long Island duked it out and the Liberty came out victorious.

The Philadelphia Liberty rode a solid performance from 25-year-old starting pitcher Al Ivey to a win, beating the Long Island Lighthouse, 3-1, at The Lighthouse. Dick Hill got the save, his 16th in 20 chances.

Philadelphia used a timely hit from Oliver Ortega to get the win. The right fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Liberty on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Ortega.

Philadelphia raised its record to 55-48 with the win.
