Bullets Rally Late to Nip Blue Demons
|
Good production from third baseman Alex Crosby helped the Baltimore Bullets topple the Mexico City Blue Demons, 4-3. Crosby went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Bullets. Baltimore reliever Kjeld Burger got the win, raising his record to 2-6. Carl McCoy was tagged with the loss. The triumph puts Baltimore at 56-49 for the season.
Baltimore used the timely hitting of Wayne Goodman to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Bullets on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Crosby.
