The Philadelphia Liberty downed the Long Island Lighthouse, 9-8, in 16 innings at The Lighthouse. The Liberty were led by Rhys Jeffes. Jeffes was 3-6 with a triple, 2 doubles, and 2 walks, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Howard Moore in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Wes Johnston took the loss. Millard Cowan earned the save, his 1st, for the Liberty.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 16th, until Jeffes delivered big-time for Philadelphia, stroking a dramatic 2-run triple off Wes Johnston. The game-changing hit put the Liberty on top, 9-7.

"Our guys refused to lose," said Jeffes.

The triumph puts Philadelphia at 61-46 for the season.
