Lakers Lose to Pandas, 4-2
|
Though he had a great game, John Ortíz could not single-handedly produce a win for Echo Park. Montana won the game, 4-2. Ortíz went 3-4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs. Martin Luther earned his 13th save in 17 chances. The Pandas, at 53-54, sit in 6th place in the Silver League.
The Pandas got a big at-bat from catcher Feng-linag Ling. For the game, Ling was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Montana a 3-1 lead.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Pandas manager Andrew Schupick. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
