Ortega Good, But Not Good Enough, in 9-8 Loss
Both teams had their chances, but the Hollywood Shredders eventually prevailed.

Salvador Ortega had a good game, but he could not keep the Kingston Township Knights from falling, 9-8, to the Hollywood Shredders at The Hollywood Bowl. The Kingston Township catcher went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice in the loss. Shem Burkholder, 2-9, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings.

In the bottom of the sixth, Hollywood first baseman Alanzo Gaufi put his team on top. With one out and the bases loaded, he hit his 12th double of the year. Kingston Township pitcher Claude Simon served it up. Just like that, the Shredders were ahead, 8-7.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Gaufi told the Hollywood Observer.

The Shredders sport a record of 41-67.
