The Colorado Billy Goats inaugurated their 2059 season with a tough 4-3 loss to the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at Grazing Hills. Starting Pitcher Hakizimana Kipkorir had perhaps the best performance for Thunder Bay. Kipkorir got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 7 hits and walked 0 over 8.2 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Victor Brown earned the save for Thunder Bay.
The Northern Lions BC got a big at-bat from designated hitter Claudio Sosa. For the game, Sosa went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Thunder Bay a 2-0 lead.
"We had a good game plan," Kipkorir said, "and we were able to execute it."
