Ponies Beaten By Coeur, 3-2

The St. Louis Coeur started the 2061 season win an impressive 3-2 win against the Kingston Ponies at The BFIB. Miguel Angel Vargo, the 15th overall pick in the 2059 draft, led the way for St. Louis. Vargo got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 0 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Lander Vardoulakis got credit for the save for St. Louis. It was his 1st of the year.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Coeur had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when catcher Sergio Henos hit a 2-run single. The single came off Edward Small and made the score 3-0, Coeur. Henos went 1 for 3. He drove in 2 runs.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Kingston manager Rayzor Ray.
