Ponies Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
|
The Kingston Ponies got their 2063 season off and running with a win over the Buckhead Bowties at Megaffin Park. The final score was 5-2. Kingston pitcher Fred Boman, in particular, had a fine performance. Fred Hull wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
The Ponies got a big at-bat from first baseman Jean Kools. For the game, Kools went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Kingston a 4-1 lead.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Boman.
