Mexico City picked up a win at The Squared Circle, bumping off the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 3-1. Pitcher Tom Johnston was a major reason the Blue Demons emerged victorious. John McGrath earned the save for Mexico City, his 1st of the year. The win gives Mexico City a record of 1-1.

In the bottom of the seventh, Mexico City third baseman Joe Raymond put his team on top. With no one out and a runner on 2nd, he hit his 1st home run of the year. Thunder Bay pitcher Randall Dean served it up. Just like that, the Blue Demons were ahead, 2-1.

Raymond said his team "played with focus."
