Hurricanes Suffer 12-1 Drubbing
The Vancouver Grey Wolves trumped the Cape Coral Hurricanes, 12-1, at Factory of Sadness. Vancouver left fielder Steef Advocaat was terrific. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Júlio Martínez, the winning pitcher, is now 1-0. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while fanning 7 and walking 4. The defeat makes Cape Coral 0-2.

Vancouver used the clutch hitting of Robin Merlet to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Grey Wolves the lead, 3-1. For the game, Merlet had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Grey Wolves manager David Krause.
