The Toledo Stingers knocked off the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 4-2, in United States Premier League action at Pittsburgh Grounds. Toledo pitcher and Calhoun, Georgia, native Kyle Chambers had an outstanding performance. Chambers, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The Stingers, at 14-8, lead by one game in their division.
Viet Long, who is tied for 8th in the PL in stolen bases with 3, aided the Toledo cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder went 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Chambers said.
