Kingston Bats Go Silent in 6-0 Loss
Charleston Battery starter Wesley Perkins turned in an exceptional performance against the Kingston Ponies at Charleston Armory, resulting in a Charleston win, 6-0. Perkins yielded no runs over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-1. Earning his 1st save of the year was Wing-fung Quan.

Gareth Kvernoey had a big 2-run double for the Battery in the bottom of the third inning. With Charleston leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from George Taylor, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2052 draft, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Battery ahead, 3-0.

"Wesley showed what he's made of," said Charleston manager Matt Hunt.

The loss drops Kingston to 3-2.
