Starting pitcher Derrick Pearson fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Dayton Dirty Reds stymie the Toronto Thunder, 4-2. Dayton reliever Derrick Pearson got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Thomas Zachary was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Henry Peters, his 3rd.

In the bottom of the second inning, the Dirty Reds grabbed the lead when Steven Forrest rapped a two-out single. Dayton was trailing 1-0, when Forrest hit a 2-run single off Thomas Zachary to put his team in front, 2-1.

Dayton manager David Dodds called it "a pretty good win."

The loss lowers the Toronto record to 1-4.
