Thunder Bay got a terrific performance from pitcher Andrew Wilkes-Krier, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kingston Ponies. Kingston won the Megaffin Park contest, 4-2. Wilkes-Krier threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The defeat makes Thunder Bay 2-3.
Had Clifton Roberson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Roberson hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Ponies.
Kingston manager Rayzor Ray called it "a pretty good win."
